Tyler Garcia Posey was born on October 18th, 1991, in Santa Monica, California, USA. He grew up in a family of celebrities his father John Posey is an actor and his mother Cyndi Terese was a writer.

Posey has three siblings including a younger brother Jesse, an older, Derek Posey, and a sister Mayra Posey. He is Mexican from his mother’s side and has German, French, English, Scottish, and Irish ancestry from his father’s side.

In terms of education, Tyler went to Santa Clarita’s William S. Hart High School in California, where he graduated. Tyler’s mother passed away due to breast cancer at the end of 2014. The fifth season of the “Teen Wolf” series was dedicated to her in honor of Posey’s mother.

Career

In February 2002 Posey appeared in his first feature film, an action thriller movie, “Collateral Damage.” He also had the main role as Ty Ventura, the son of Jennifer Lopez in the comedy film, “Main in Manhattan” that year. However, his first role was uncredited in the 2000s film, “Men of Honor.”

In 2011 Tyler’s breakout role came, playing the main role of a high school student, ” Scott McCall” in the MTV series “Teen Wolf.” From that point on he continued to appear in major projects. In 2015 he joined the fifth season of “Teen Wolf” as a co-producer.
