Early Life

Dominic Richard Harrison was born August 5th, 1997, in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England. He grew up with two younger sisters, Jemima and Isobel. His mother Sam is a housewife and his father Justin worked at a guitar shop.

So, Dom had a piece of music in his life from a young age. Not only that, his grandfather Rick was a musician as well. He took inspiration and began singing and playing guitar. At the age of 11, he wrote a song on the guitar and showed his mom.

While studying in school, Dom loved music, art, and history, but never liked math and science. He often skipped his math classes to spend time in the drama center or the music room. He studied theater and performed in musicals. At 14 he got a chance to perform in a musical with actor Matt Lucas.

His time in high school didn’t last long because, at the age of 16, he dropped out of school and moved to London to pursue a career as a rock star. As a kid, he loved the classics like The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. His fashion was influenced by rockstars The Who and Mick Jagger.

Career

Yungblud started his career by creating a YouTube channel in April 2016. He posted videos of him covering popular singles. Shortly after moving to London, Yungblud was found by Disney.

In 2016 he became cast as a recurring character on Disney’s hit show, “The Lodge.” Before appearing on this show, Yungblud made his TV debut in an episode of the 2015 show, “Emmerdale.” He also appeared on Disney’s show, “The Squeeze” as a recurring actor in multiple characters.

It was during his time at Disney that he met his management team, and decided to become a musician. Yungblud mixed pop hooks, hip hop, and punk feelings with cultural commentary into singles. Eventually, he moved to LA for better opportunities.
