Early Life
Hari Nef was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 21st, 1992. She was raised by Jewish parents in Newton, Massachusetts.
Her father David Neff was an advertising executive and her mom Robin Clebnik used to work in sales. Hari was raised by a single mother after her parents divorced when she was just 2 years old.
Growing up she discovered her passion for modeling and acting. Upon her high school graduation, Hari went on to enroll at Columbia University in 2011. She obtained a degree in theater in May 2015.
Career
Hari’s first acting role was as Cy in the comedy film Hellaware in 2013. In the following year, she was seen as Amber Mugabe in the short film She Told Me She Was Dead. From there, she continued to appear in short movies including Self Aware, Family Tree (2015), Crush (2016), and A–Z of Hair (2017).
Breakthrough
Hari had a big break when she landed the role of Gittel in the comedy-drama show Transparent in 2015. She starred in the series for its 5 episodes but her role earned her a lot of fame.
