Enisa Nikaj was born on March 5th, 1996, in Brooklyn, USA, and was raised in New York to Albanian parents. Her father was 25 years old when he relocated from SFR Yugoslavia to America.

She grew up along with her older and younger brother. Her brothers are pursuing their careers in sports as basketball players. As a kid, she developed an interest in music and began listening to artists like Frank Sinatra, and Nina Simone, among others.

In terms of education, she went to study at the elementary school called PS 130 The Parkside. While in school she got a chance to participate in play and school choir. In the 4th grade, Enisa was picked to play the character of Dorothy in a school play at the age of 7.

In December 2012 Enisa created her YouTube channel but she didn’t upload any songs until July 2015. She released the cover songs to David Guetta and Sia’s hit single “Titanium.”

She followed that up with a cover of tracks like Hozier’s “Take Me to Church,” Timberlake’s “Cry Me a River,” and Adele’s “Hello.” Eventually the cover of Hozier’s song “Take Me To Church” went viral, amassing over 100k views within 3 months of its upload.

Later she posted the track on her Facebook which earned over 1 million views in 3 days. From that point on she started getting recognition in the industry and also caught the attention of music producers.

Breakthrough

In September 2016 Enisa dropped her debut song “Burn This Bridge” and later the music video as well. Next year her sophomore track “Glory Days” came out which became the soundtrack to the 2019 film “Miss Virginia.”

In the year 2017, she released two more songs including “Freedom” and “Reunite.” From 2018 to 2020 Enisa performed several cover songs including Eminem’s “Mockingbird” in December 2018. That track went viral and racked up over 10 million views by the end of 2020.
