Early Life

Daniel Anthony Farris aka D Smoke was born on October 17th, 1985, in Inglewood, California, USA. Music was always in his blood growing up. His mother was a gospel singer for singer Trina Turner.

His uncle was a bass player for musician Prince, while his cousin Tiffany Gouché wrote tracks for the R&B singer Ginuwine and the girl group called The Pussycat Dolls. After graduating from UCLA, Anthony became a music recording teacher at Inglewood high school.

Music has always been a huge part of his life, Anthony spent a lot of time learning how to play guitar in his teenage years. His younger brother Sir Darryl Farris is also a well-known rapper in the music industry.

Career

In 2006 Anthony collaborated with his brother Darryl and cousin Tiffany Gouché to form a songwriting collective called “WoodWorks”. In May of that year, D Smoke dropped his debut album “Producer of the Year”, but it didn’t become successful.

The rapper took a long break from music and then returned in 2015, featuring in SiR’s song “You Ain’t Ready”. The song was later included in the 2015 SiR’s independent album “Seven Sundays”.
