Evan Eckenrode aka Dwarf Mamba was born on February 11th, 1997, in the small town of Smithsburg, Maryland, USA. He is the second son to parents Kerry and Jim Eckenrode and his father is a former high school football coach.
He spent his childhood with his brother Ryan Eckenrode and a couple of cousins. Growing up he developed an interest in sports and still to this date he is extremely active. He is a big supporter of Conor Mcgregor, Sidney Crosby, and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
When Evan was just 10 years old he was watching an episode of “Little People Big World” with his family. That was the time when he first found out about the Dwarf Athletic Association of American National Games.
In terms of education, he attended Smithsburg High School. Upon his high school graduation, he was encouraged by his parents to get a practical degree, so he enrolled in Salisbury University, obtaining a Business degree.
Career
Evan signed up and took home a silver medal in volleyball, that was his first year. In 2009 he earned the Golden Soccer Silver in volleyball and Softball Throw then a Bonze in the 40-meter dash. There he picked up experiences that later came in handy and made some lifelong friends.
At the age of 12 Evan competed in his 2nd DAAA Competition held in New York City. He made the trip to New York with family and his brother Ryan even helped out as coach.
While studying in school he created an account on Vine in 2013 and began posting tons of different series. Around that time, Mamba never imagined that he would become an online star. He was just posting on Vine as a way to capture some funny moments while he was enjoying time with friends.
Then one night he was inspired by the classic film “Like Mike” starring Bow Wow, and he decided to recreate the classic scene in his style. He posted the video and the following day Mama woke up with 20k likes on that video. From that point on he continued to make more content videos focused on his Dwarfism.
Breakthrough
Once, Dwarf surpassed 1 million followers he started getting calls to do interviews and offers to travel. However, his parents kept him grounded and told him to keep focusing on his studies. Eventually, his Vine account surpassed 2 million followers with 154 million loops.
Evan did a breakaway and began working with Logan Paul. The two content creators first met up during the 2014 DAAA competition held in San Diego. From there the two quickly got to work collaborating on Vine videos. He also invited his friends to join the fun.
Evan kept up his friendship with Logan Paul and went to visit him at “1600 VINE in Hollywood” where all the biggest Vine stars were living. In January 2017, Logan teamed up with Mama and uploaded a video titled “SMUGGLING A DWARF TO PARIS IN A SUITCASE!”. That video became viral, amassing over 16 million views on YouTube.
Other Ventures
Evan became Logan’s new roommate in June 2017. Together, the pair went on a Hawaii trip as well as they had broken the Guinness world record for smashing plates. Not to mention, they have hosted “Dwarf Wrestling Competitions”.
In August 2017, Evan began posting to his own YouTube channel where he began posting gaming content. Later, he developed an interest in other things and uploaded a variety of content including the song titled “Dwarf Problems” in 2017.
