Amari joined the Prestigious Sierra Canyon High School basketball team in Lose Angeles, California. While playing in the team Amari became a teammate with LeBron James’s son Bronny James in his sophomore year. During his first years with Sierra, Amari averaged around 5 points and 5 assists in 16 minutes a game.
In the following year, Amari had bumped that scoring number up to around 10 points a game. In a campaign that saw the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers, they earned a 30-4 record. But it was his junior year in which Amari gained recognition.
Not only did he average an astonishing 28 points a game to go along with 8 rebounds and 6 assists.
