Suzanna Brada Son was born on October 31st, 1995 in Hamilton, Montana, and was raised in Washington, the United States. She managed to keep things private about her life and hasn’t disclosed details regarding her parents.

During high school, she discovered her passion for the arts and began participating in different plays. Around that time she also entered in school ballet dance team.

Upon her high school graduation, she went on to obtain a degree in major in classical music from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. In her second year of college, she decided to drop out of college to learn Maori dance in New Zealand. 


Suzanna Son had a passion for dance and music since she was in high school. Later in 2018, she was discovered by filmmaker Sean Baker who asked her for an audition for his upcoming film.

However, Suzanna was not ready to pursue her acting career so she didn’t reply to him for the following two years. Before her breakthrough, she was cast in a low-budget short movie called risque.


Suzanna made her big screen debut in Sean Baker’s comedy film Red Rocket in December 2021. She portrayed the lead role of Strawberry, a seventeen years old girl in South Texas. Suzanna appeared in the film alongside actors Simon Rex, Bree Elrod, Ethan Darbone, and many more.

Her outstanding performance led her to receive Best Breakthrough Performer and Best Supporting Actress nominations at Gotham Award and Independent Spirit Award. Additionally, this film gave her significant fame in the entertainment industry.

Other Ventures

Suzanna Son created her YouTube channel and began uploading her music content. The director Baker found that Suzanna know how to play piano, so he quickly created a scene for her to sing a cover version of the single “Bye Bye Bye”, originally sung by NSYNC.

Following the approval of her song from NSYNC, she began dropping it on a number of music streaming platforms. Her music skills caught the attention of HBO’s The Idol. She was asked to join the show alongside Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd in November 2021.
