Debbi Morgan was born in Dunn, North Carolina, on 20 September 1956 to her parents Lora and George Morgan Jr. Her mother was a teacher and her father was an Butcher. She has one younger sister named Terry. Her born name is Deborah Ann Morgan but she is best known as Debbi Morgan. 

Debbi’s family moved to the Bronx when Morgan was just a kid. In an interview with People Magazine In 1997, Morgan shared that her dad struggled with alcohol abuse. Although he never physically hurt his daughters, Morgan remembered her mother frequently fleeing from him. He passed away from leukemia in 1975. Morgan completed her education at Aquinas High School.
