Cassadee Blake Pope was born on August 28th, 1989, in West Palm Beach, Florida, to parents Lenny Pope and Lori Pope. Cassadee grew up with her sister named Ashley Pope. She always had a passion for music since her childhood.

Cassadee started singing when she was studying in middle school. While studying at Wellington High School, she teamed up with her best friend Mike Gentile and formed a band “Blake”. However, the band didn’t last long and disbanded shortly.

Career

Pope rose to fame in 2008 when she and her friend Gentile formed a band called “Hey Monday”. They searched for more members for the group and ended up finding Michael, Jersey, Alex Lipshaw, Moriarty, and Elliot James.

Eventually, they launched a pop rock band Hey Monday, and began recording music. In October 2008, their debut studio album, “Hold on Tight” came out. It contains a total of 11 tracks including the two tracks written by Pope.

In 2012, Pope began her solo career by releasing her first album “Cassadee Pope” in May of that year. The project features four tracks including “Secondhand”, “Original Love”, “I Guess We’re Cool”, and “Told You So”.

In early 2013, Pope’s music caught the attention of a famous label “Republic Nashville” with whom she signed. Later that year, she dropped the song “Wasting All These Tears” which later became the lead single of her solo album. It was a big hit, peaking at #37 on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as selling over 125k units in its first week of release.
