Early Life
Cassadee Blake Pope was born on August 28th, 1989, in West Palm Beach, Florida, to parents Lenny Pope and Lori Pope. Cassadee grew up with her sister named Ashley Pope. She always had a passion for music since her childhood.
Cassadee started singing when she was studying in middle school. While studying at Wellington High School, she teamed up with her best friend Mike Gentile and formed a band “Blake”. However, the band didn’t last long and disbanded shortly.
Career
Pope rose to fame in 2008 when she and her friend Gentile formed a band called “Hey Monday”. They searched for more members for the group and ended up finding Michael, Jersey, Alex Lipshaw, Moriarty, and Elliot James.
Eventually, they launched a pop rock band Hey Monday, and began recording music. In October 2008, their debut studio album, “Hold on Tight” came out. It contains a total of 11 tracks including the two tracks written by Pope.
Before the band would release their first EP, the member of the group James decided to leave Hey Monday. However, other members continued to record their music including their debut extended play “Beneath It All” which came out in August 2010.
Following its release, the band announced their first US tour to promote their debut album. In the following year, Hey Monday dropped their Christmas EP and then took an indefinite hiatus.
